EXCHANGE PROGRAMS The International Department of the Nevsky Institute pays much attention to exchange programs with well-known institutions around the world. The mission of the Department is to promote integration of the Nevsky Institute into International Education Community. The Institute seeks to support and develop academic mobility of the Institute’s teacher staff and student body, to encourage them to participate in the international academic programs. First exchange programs began its functioning in 2001. With the limits of exchange programs every academic year Nevsky’s students spend a semester in various universities. At the same time, the Nevsky Institute receives students from these institutions. General Principles: The Institute has exchange agreements with the following universities around the world. Students of the Nevsky Institute may participate in the exchange programs on a competitive basis. Students at these institutions may apply to come to the Nevsky Institute on exchange program. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p> The list of exchange programs: University of Oklahoma; Oklahoma (USA); Hanze University (Netherlands); University of Zagreb; Zagreb (Croatia); Palackeho University; Olomouc (Czech Republic); Academy of Economics and the Humanities; Lodz (Poland); Granada University; Granada (Spain); Durham University (Great Britain); Kajaani Polytechnic; Kajaani (Finland). Nevsky students have an opportunity to participate in domestic academic mobility through agreements of the Nevsky Institute with partner institutions: Polytechnic University (Pskov), International Banking Institute (St.Petersburg), Electrotechnical University (St.Petersburg), State University of Engineering and Economics (St.Petersburg). Through the Domestic exchange with Pskov Polytechnic students can spend a semester at Hague School of European Studies (Netherlands) or at Savonia University of Applied Sciences (Finland). <H1></H1> Suggested terms. According to existing exchange agreements, students of the Nevsky Institute may participate in exchange programs on the following terms:<o:p></o:p> Students may take any four courses at the partner institution during a semester;<o:p></o:p> The Nevsky Institute will give credit to students upon completion of their studies at the partner institution;<o:p></o:p> Students have access to the library, computer lab, Internet and other facilities at foreign institutions;<o:p></o:p> Students will continue to pay tuition to their home institution while participating in the exchange. They will not be expected to pay tuition to their host institution;<o:p></o:p> Students will be expected to pay themselves all visa fees out of pocket, pay for their accommodation, and to purchase an insurance policy and round-trip plane/train tickets.<o:p></o:p> Standards for candidates: In order to be considered for participation in an exchange program, students of the Nevsky Institute should:<o:p></o:p> Be full-time students between their second and fourth year of education or part-time students between their third and fifth year of education;<o:p></o:p> Have no liabilities on their study or payment for tuition;<o:p></o:p> Have an average grade in English of no less than “4” and good results in their other courses;<o:p></o:p> Hand in an application to the International department at the proper time.
